Another feather in bank’s cap

Public Bank Bhd (PBB) has once again been recognised as an outstanding performer at the Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards (MEEA) held in Kuala Lumpur as it bagged five awards for its contribution to the growth of e-payments in the country.

The accolades were Best IBG Bank, Outstanding Contribution to FPX, Best MyDebit Bank, My Debit Top Acquirer and Outstanding Contribution to MyDebit.

The Best MyDebit Bank award was awarded to PBB for the second year in a row while the bank retained both Outstanding Contribution awards.

The MEEA is organised annually by Payments Network System (M) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank Negara Malaysia, to recognise the contributions of the financial industry, the business community and government agencies in accelerating Malaysia’s e-payment agenda.

The awards were presented by Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim.

On hand to receive the awards on behalf of PBB was its managing director Tan Sri Tay Ah Lek.

In a statement, PBB said the awards it won were a direct result of its bundling of innovative e-Payment channels with stable infrastructure to provide the best support to e-Payments under a reliable, safe and secure environment.

“Besides being a key enabler in migrating businesses and organisations to e-Payments in Malaysia’s journey to embrace a digital economy, PBB is conscious of cybersecurity and has put in place a well-defined strategy to protect customers against cybercrimes.

“To further provide a robust and scalable solution to customers, PBB launched a new version of the Cash Management Solution known as PB enterprise that helps businesses manage their financials more effectively and efficiently,” said the statement.

In line with Bank Negara’s directive, PBB also organised extensive e-Payment forums nationwide to promote the bank’s comprehensive cash management and e-banking services in an effort to migrate more businesses onto the e-Payments platform.
